Over the course of this project, I have been taking numerous instax images in order to potentially accompany my final presentation.
These images use a different approach to the main shoots, a more documentary and observational style.
This is a contrast to my normal way of shooting however I think it also gives some realness and and rawness to my project.
I may not end up using these, but if I do then they're only going to be supporting work rather than the main body of the work.
The polaroids represent more insight to the everyday life of myself and things that i've been going through throughout the course of this project. They act almost as physical 'proof' of mental illness and how it doesn't just retain itself to inside the mind, but affects everything.
There are images that create a narrative of something happening such as family photos turned away, there's self portraits of times where i'm directly in the middle of a bad mental state, and there's observation photos of how all of this affects my space and where I live - showing rooms with clutter that haven't been cleaned in days because I simply can't bring myself to do so, even though when things get messy physically in my life I find it even harder to handle life.
These are rather personal, but could perhaps be shown in my final presentation. I'll be doing mockups that include these polaroids to see if they work with my final main body of work or not.
